Recently, the completion acceptance meeting for the capacity expansion project of Berths No. 8 and No. 9 in the Bitou Operation Area of the Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port was held in Jiangyin, Fuzhou. Following on-site inspection and document verification, the on-site verification team for completion acceptance unanimously agreed that the project passed completion acceptance.

The project upgraded the original one 50,000-DWT container berth and one 70,000-DWT container berth (the wharf's marine structure was designed for berthing 150,000-DWT container ships) to 150,000-DWT container berths (also accommodating a small number of dangerous goods containers). It can simultaneously accommodate one 150,000-DWT and one 20,000-DWT container ship, retains general cargo handling functions, and has a designed annual throughput capacity of 900,000 TEU (including 15,000 TEU of dangerous goods containers and 660,000 tonnes of general cargo).

After the project is completed and put into operation, it will enhance supporting facilities for dangerous goods container operations in the Jiangyin Port Area, enrich the port area's maritime transport and sea-rail intermodal transport business types, further strengthen the port area's cargo service capacity, and support the quality improvement and development of industries in the Jiangyin Port Area of Fuzhou Port.
